Annual sports meet / literary programme held

The annual sports meet cum literary programme of Kishio English School, Ngari Lishang village was held with Mao MLA L Dikho attending as special guest on October 6 .
The school is located at a distance of some 76 km away from the district headquarters.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Losii Dikho said that education is the tool to bring positive changes in the society and appreciated the school for its strong commitment towards imparting education in such remote area.
He encouraged the students to work hard to achieve success in life while assuring of his full cooperation in improvement of the school and also urged the teachers to carry out their services with dedication and commitment.
Karong MLA J Kumo Sha, in his presidential speech, stressed the importance of learning mother language in the institutions and providing practical education to the students.
He encouraged establishing of more educational institutions for healthy competition.
Sha also advised the teachers to teach children the right way for a better future.
School founder RS Wellson, Ngari Lishang village chairman L Elijah, Ngari Lishang Baptist Church pastor reverend Ng Zaiveikho, Ngari (Raimai KLW) Union chairman P Sahrinii, Poumai Baptist Church pastor RS Abraham and Ngari Raiduloumai Lower Church pastor SK Nakhang also attended the programme, apart from leaders from neighbouring villages, Poumai leaders from Kohima, villagers, public leaders, intellectuals among others.
It may be mentioned that late reverend RS Kishio Shimthar, father of the four brothers who founded the school, had a vision to bring and build a better society through education and health care.
The institution was established with a vision to nurture young minds with the spirit of inquisitiveness, foster intellectual, ethical, spiritual, social values and to nurture the young ones in the fear of the Lord.
The target group of the institution is children deprived of education due to financial constraints and the institution is offering education at affordable fees without compromising the quality of education.
