NIELIT signs MoU with 12 colleges

A memorandum of understanding was signed today between the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Akampat with 12 Government colleges for technical partnership and IT capacity building programmes.
The colleges who signed the MoU with NIELIT are Manipur College, Lilong Haoreibi College, S Kula Women's College, Kakching Khunou College, Imphal College, Hindi Teacher Training College, Waikhom Mani Girls' College, Nambol L Sanoi College, DM College of Teacher Education, Standard College, Presidency College and United College.
The MoU signed today is for a term of two years but it may be extended or a fresh MoU may be signed, if necessary.
The MoU was signed in the auditorium of NIELIT, Akampat between its Director N Debachandra and Director of University and Higher Education Dr Rangitabali Waikhom.
Speaking at the occasion, N Debachandra said that NIELIT is a multi-disciplinary institute which provides education on IT and electronics starting from beginners' level to the Postgraduate level.
The basic objective of NIELIT is production of industry ready candidates after training students on IT and Electronics so that they secure jobs/placements without any difficulty, Debachandra said.
The purpose of the MoU is to build a technical relationship between the institutes in re-skilling and empowering students in areas of IECT (either in digital literacy or emerging technologies or industry oriented areas or livelihood activities), to work in collaborative mode for identification of technology and knowledge gap of the faculties and students, and bring a solution by way of organising seminars, workshops, brainstorming sessions, faculty development programmes, research and development in IT and ITeS sectors etc, he said.
