Bronchoscopy cum EBUS suite opened at RIMS

Bronchoscopy cum EBUS suite has been opened at the Department of Respiratory Medicine, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) by its director professor A Santa on Friday.
According to a RIMS statement issued by its media advisor N Phillip, the inauguration programme was also attended by RIMS medical superintendent professor N Sanjib and head of respiratory medicine professor Sunanda Haorongbam.
In his address, professor Santa said that the respiratory medicine department has long been awaiting bronchoscopy cum EBUS machine and as such availability of the world class facility will help treat post-COVID-19 patients having respiratory problem.
He further mentioned that earlier the number of PG was only two but now increased to 6.The increase of PG number will ultimately increase the strength of the department and automatically benefit the general public.
The machine will also help students in their training period and without this machine, intake of PG students will not be possible, he added.
The inauguration programme was also attended by all HODs, faculty, Chief Nursing Officer (i/c), staff, official and students.
