Avail bank loans, repay in time: MLA Arunkumar

Wangkhei AC MLA Thangjam Arunkumar on Friday inaugurated the main branch of Fino Payment Bank at Khurai Thangjam Leikai.
Speaking as chief guest of the event, MLA Thangjam Arunkumar explained that the banking sector is an important part of human society, holding equal significance as that of the education and health sectors.
He urged the people to avail the various facilities provided by the banks, observing that the people of the state have a low transaction rate.
If people can maintain regular transactions, the banks are always ready to provide equal benefits for the same, he added.
The MLA further urged the people to cultivate the habit of repaying bank loans in time, adding that the banks are operating on the income generated from granting loans.
Thus, if the loans are repaid in time, it would be beneficial for both the people and the banks, he said, while wishing for Fino Payment Bank to gain more recognition in the state.
In her speech, Fino Payment Bank super distributor Y Sonia stated that the main objective of this bank is to ensure easy transaction facilities in rural areas which lack access to the banking sector.
Presently, there are 4-5 branches of the bank.
The public can open an account with a minimum balance and avail ATM service including free insurance of Rs 2 lakh at the time of opening an account, she conveyed.
Presided over by Manipur State Human Rights Commission former acting chairperson, Yambem Laba, the function was also attended by social worker RK Kaiku as guest of honour.
