Live Laparoscopic Surgery Workshop held

A one-day "ASIMANICON 2022 Pre-Conference Live Laparoscopic Surgery Workshop" was held at Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI) today.
The workshop is a triangular effort of the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI) the largest association of Minimal Access surgeons in the world with over 11,000 members, Association of Surgeons of India (ASI)�Manipur State Chapter and Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, said a press release by Shija Hospitals.
Dr Kh Palin, CMD, SHRI; Dr Kalpesh Jani, Senior Vice-President - AMASI; Dr Pravin Suryavanshi, Faculty, AMASI; Dr Nepram Sanjib Singh, Chairman, ASI - Manipur State Chapter and Dr Jugindra Sorokhaibam - President, AMASI graced the occasion as the presidium members.

The pre-conference workshop was organized in conjunction with the 25th ASIMANICON-2022, which is set to start from October 8-9, 2022 at RIMS, Imphal.
The ASIMANICON is an annual conference organized by the Association of Surgeons of India-Manipur State Chapter.
Speaking at the event, Dr Nepram Sanjib Singh and Dr Kalpesh Jani encouraged medical students and budding surgeons to keenly participate in such surgical extravaganza and upgrade their laparoscopic skills.
Dr Palin Khundongbam highlighted the evolving era of key hole surgery in Manipur.
Harmonic Scalpel (USA) was installed for the first time in Asia for bloodless surgery in 1997, he further added.
The event featured live telecast of 11 laparoscopic surgeries from the operating room to the workshop venue, where participants could interact with the operating surgeons.
Renowned surgeons from across the country, budding surgeons and postgraduate medical trainees of RIMS, JNIMS and Shija Hospitals attended the workshop.
With over 35,000 key-hole surgeries performed till date, Shija is a pioneer and leading brand in key-hole surgery in Eastern India.
Since 1996, Shija has advanced considerably when it comes to high end technologies for minimal access surgery.
Various minimal access surgeries including gallbladder stones, appendix removal, Common Bile Duct stones, kidney, urinary, and bladder stones, gynaecological laparoscopic surgeries were performed by renowned AMASI faculty during the workshop using state-of-the-art 1688 4K platform (Stryker) .
