Imphal, December 19 2022:
A leopard cat rescued by the family members of one Laishram Bijen of Mayang Imphal bazar has been handed over to a committee on wildlife for release in its natural habitat.
The Leopard cat suspected to be chased by some on the intervening night of December 17 and 18 was found hiding under a parked car in the Bazar area before being rescued by Bijen's family after chasing away 4-5 dogs.
After safely keeping the animal, Bijen handed over the same to joint coordination committee on wild life and biodiversity co-convenor Kshetrimayum Johnson on Monday.
The Leopard cat will be set free in the open jungle after providing necessary medical treatment for two days.
