Awareness programme, crash course on JEE commences

A "3-day Awareness Programme cum Crash Course on JEE (Joint Entrance Examination)" commenced today at the hall of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Mantripukhri.
The awareness cum crash course has been organised with an aim to attract Manipuri students to get into the Institute of National Importance like IIIT Manipur.
The programme was inaugurated by L Nandakumar Singh (IAS), Director of Education (S), Govt of Manipur.
He emphasized on the career opportunities in terms of employment with lucrative jobs with a monthly salary of more than 1 lakh in Information Technology (IT) sector and he also appealed to the State Government to take up enormous efforts to make Manipur an IT hub, not only for the North Eastern States but also for the South-East Asia.

Professor Krishnan Baskar, Director of IIIT Manipur presided over the inaugural function and said that IIIT Manipur is committed to attract a large number of Manipuri students to the institute.
He highlighted various fundings and scholarship opportunities from the Govt of India for the disadvantaged section of the society in addition to the collateral free education loans from banks (upto 30 lakhs for 4 years) .
He also stressed on the importance of Electronics and Computer Science in IT for improving the quality of human life.
Dr Kishorjit Nongmeikapam extended a warm welcome to the students from Little Angel English School of Ukhrul district who are participating in this 3-day programme and addressed the gathering.
