Advent Christmas celebrated

Chassad Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a coordination meet at Phaikoh and Thana as Advent Christmas programme on Sunday.
The meet was organised in the view of current security situation in Myanmar, suspension of FMR and its implications for the border villages of Manipur so as to work hand in hand to strengthen civil-military liaison for security and well-being of civil population in Area of Responsibility (AOR) .
According to a release by PRO (IGAR), during the meet, the village authorities were conveyed of the role of village headman/secretary as critical for establishing peace and harmony in the area by guiding the locals against any illegal/ smuggling activities in the area and working in conjunction with Assam Rifles to maintain territorial integrity & prosperity in AOR.
The village authorities in return gave their affirmation to report any infiltration by Myanmar locals to Indian villages for any reason, said the release.
Phaikoh village GB Thoushy and GB of Thana, Ashang and ESM attended the meet as presidium members, it added.
