Ukhrul, December 19 2022:
FPS Agents of 44-AC have expressed their disappointment over the failure of the authorities concerned to release the funds required to pay the transportation cost for lifting rice.
Addressing a press conference today at Viewland, Luingam Lunghar, president of 44-AC FPS Rationing Agents alleged that since their appointment as agents in March 2022, the transport contractor has not been seen in the district.
He also claimed that the expenditure for transporting & lifting rice was incurred and managed from their own pocket for more than 8 months.
He appealed to the authorities concerned to reimburse the transportation cost at the earliest, failing which the Department concerned will be responsible for any untoward incident related to the issue.
Ngachonpam Kasar, secretary of FPS Agents, informed that complaint letters were submitted to the authorities concerned to redress the issue.
He continued that the absence of a District Supply Officer from Ukhrul district has increased the burden.
Ngachonpam Kasar further mentioned that the Rationing Agents of 44-AC have resolved to launch an intensive democratic form of agitation to show their displeasure over the erring transport contractor and officers concerned of the District Department.
