Rape accused quartet remanded in police custody

Imphal, December 19 2022:
Special Judge POCSO, Imphal West has remanded four people accused in different rape cases in police custody for four days.
Three of the accused identified as Soram Kenedy Singh (32) of Mayang Langjing Awang Leikai, Chonjonbam Ranjan and Chonjonbam Sanathoi of Phumlou Siphai Maning Leikai, who were arrested by Sekmai police for allegedly raping a minor girl of 16 years after kidnapping her from her residential gate at Khonghampat on December 17 were remanded in police custody for four days (till December 22) after they were produced before the Special Judge (POCSO) Imphal West on Monday.
Meanwhile, another accused identified as Moirangthem Manisana Singh (27) of Chalou Lamlai Bazar, who was picked up by Moreh police on the charge of raping a 15-year-old girl from Moreh bazar on December 13, was produced before the Special Judge (POCSO), Imphal West on Monday.
He was subsequently remanded in police custody till December 22 for further interrogation.
