AR units screen WC Final, conduct lecture, distribute solar lights

Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) screened the final match of the FIFA World Cup 2022 for locals of Aina, Santing L, Mualhoichin, Govajang, T Khungkhai and Hengjol villages at Aina and Govajang villages in Churachandpur district on Sunday to promote football as a tool to motivate youth to take sports as a profession.
The event was organised to build harmony and understanding between the youth and the security forces, said a PRO IGAR (S) release, adding that the match was attended by 293 locals.
Khuga Battalion Assam Rifles also conducted screening of the final match of Football World Cup between Argentina and France for local youth of Singhat village under Churachandpur district.
The screening event was organised to promote sports culture and also to pay tribute to sportspersons of our country and motivated youth to excel in the field of sports, said the PRO in another release, adding that the nail biting final match was enthusiastically witnessed by youths and children.
Altogether, 131 youngsters including girls attended the event.
The release said that the youth were also briefed about sports culture in India including its historical linkage and the opportunities available in today 's environment in various sports genres and motivated to follow their dream sports and bring accolades for the country.
Sajik Tampak Battalion too organised screening of FIFA World Cup Final 2022 at Sajik Tampak, Chandel district to enable the locals enjoy the biggest sporting event in the world.
Those present were also briefed about the importance of playing sports especially for children and explained the available opportunities for youth for making career in the held of sports.
A total of 45 locals enjoyed the final match.
Meanwhile, Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted a motivational lecture for the youth on joining the Armed Forces through Agnipath at Seijang village community hall in Imphal East district on Monday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the lecture revealed the life led by a soldier and the extraordinary challenges and experiences one could gain from joining the forces.
The procedure to enrol and scheduled dates of recruitment rallies were also conveyed along with benefits of Agnipath scheme.
The pre-recruitment training efforts by the Mantripukhri Battalion were announced during the lecture.
The youth appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles in inspiring them to join the forces and contribute in nation building.
They requested for more such interactions in the future.
They also requested the Assam Rifles to conduct such pre recruitment training programmes more often to motivate the youth.
A total of 30 members of Youth Clubs from eight villages attended the meeting.
On the other-hand, Tengnoupal Battalion distributed 4 solar lights to Sairal Saisem village in Tengnoupal district to provide an alternate medium of power source to light up the area and enhance security during hours of darkness in the region.
According to PRO IGAR (S), solar lights were provided under Operation Sadbhavna after due deliberation and keeping in mind the requirement of the villagers.
