Thoubal, December 19 2022:
A one-day training programme on "Vision Testing" young school-going children was organised by District Administration, Thoubal at the Counting Hall of Thoubal DC Complex on Monday.
The programme was attended by Thoubal deputy commissioner A Subhash, ZEO A Anilkumar and DFWO Dr Ksh Memcha as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, DC A Subhash commented on the increased usage of computer and mobile devices by children, which in turn is affecting their vision/sight.
As such, the programme was organised as part of a mission to teach teachers how to diagnose the affected eyesight of children.
He then appealed to the teachers to extend their support to the mission, while informing that efforts are being made to install a separate building for the Eye Department at the District Hospital.
In all, two teachers each from around 160 schools in Thoubal District attended the training programme.
During the technical session, District Hospital, Thoubal eye-specialist Dr Regan explained how to check the eyes of children, as resource person.
