DMU VC pitches for more training institutes

The second edition of the Annual College Week of The Ideal Teachers' Training Academy (ITTA) was inaugurated at the Academy premises on Monday.
The inauguration of the 5-day celebration was attended by Dhanamanjuri University VC Prof N Rajmuhon as chief guest, ITTA Governing Body secretary Yengkokpam Ranjan as president and chairman Khagokpam Ronel as guest of honour.
In his speech, Prof N Rajmuhon stressed the need for instilling human values, positive thoughts and spirit of non-violence among the youth and children.
Also, there is the need to identity the innate talents of young people and guide them to the right path so that they would become capable members of the society in the future.
He continued that India is considered as the youngest country in the world with over half of its population being under the age of 25.Thus, there is the need to encourage and promote institutes which can provide proper training including extra-curricular activities and groom the youth to become responsible citizens.
As part of the inaugural function, 4 march past contingents of the College, namely Tikendrajit House, Paona House, Jadonang House and Irawat House offered the guard of honour.
