UNC warns against monetary demand

United Naga Council (UNC) has come out strongly against any organisation/group or individual imposing illegal monetary demand on Naga villages.
UNC has come out with a statement in this regard after it heard about illegal activities allegedly taking place in some Naga villages in Manipur.
In the statement, UNC said that every Naga village, big or small, has definite geographical area and its traditional boundaries with all neighbouring villages.
Naga people are desirous of upholding the principle of peaceful coexistence with all ethnic groups living in the state of Manipur by respecting each other's land, identity, history and political rights.
However, some organisations/groups are imposing monetary demand on some Naga villages, UNC said and appealed to all organisations/groups/individuals concerned to refrain from making monetary demand in any form so that peace and tranquillity prevails among all communities living in the state.
