Medical bodies condemn Senapati bomb attack

The Indian Medical Association (IMA).
Manipur State Branch and All Manipur Health Services Doctors' Association (AMHSDA) have condemned the bomb explosion triggered at the Chief Medical Officer, Senapati on September 30 night.
In a release, IMA, Manipur described the attack as an act of terrorism on those who are practically healers of the sick and infirmed, and stated that such acts of violence against Healthcare providers will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Demanding immediate arrest and strong action against perpetrators of such cowardly act, the association urged the government of Manipur to initiate immediate action.
It also appealed to the public to remain calm and help the police to identify 'the culprits if they have any information oh the same.
In another release, AMHSDA working committee member Dr L Arke Singh informed that doctors save the lives of other people, even the enemies, but become victims of circumstances on many occasions.
Regardless of their sincere efforts to be available for rendering service as and when emergency situations arise, it is regretful that doctors are always at risk and made soft targets.
