Cleanliness drive held

The Roadside Vendors' Welfare Association, Khwairakpam Keithel organised a cleanliness drive at the newly constructed temporary market shed in connection with Gandhi Jayanti celebration.
Speaking by the sideline of the social service effort, Th Premila Devi, executive member, Roadside Vendors' Welfare Association stated that due to restriction on selling their wares at the temporary market shed in question, the area had collected dirt over time and as such, the cleanliness drive had been organised.

Further, she made an appeal to the authorities concerned to inaugurate the market shed and allow vendors to set up shop.
She also appealed against the Government bringing new vendors to the market and stated that only previous long-time vendors must be allowed to sell their wares in the temporary market shed.
