Speaking on the occasion, N Biren said that BJP was observing the birth anniversaries of the three leaders with Prime Minister Nerendra Modi's message to celebrate his birthday by serving the underprivileged and needy people instead of celebrating the day with merrymaking and sharing of sweets.
He said that a Khadi mela was opened at the event in line with the wish of Mahatma Gandhi which is also endorsed by Narendra Modi.
The event was attended by many BJP Ministers, MLAs, ex-MLAs and party leaders.
In line with the Prime Minister's wish, the State Government has already issued an order directing all Government offices, Ministers, Chief Secretary and bureaucrat officers to use Khadi products, Biren said.
Informing that the Chief Minister's Secretariat has replaced all clothes with Khadi products, Biren appealed to all to support the call for 'vocal for local' .
He also appealed to all the people to support the Government's mission of conserving water apart from keeping rivers and ponds clean.
Biren lauded the activities carried by the BJP State unit president, office bearers and party workers during the Seva Pakhwada fortnight.
Responding to a query raised by media persons, the Chief Minister informed that all pending recruitment results including those of IRB would be declared shortly.
It took some time to rectify the flaws and lapses which were there under the previous Government.
Now everything has been streamlined, Biren said.
On being enquired about the difficulties faced by Manipuri people settled outside the State, particularly Meghalaya's Goladhand, the Chief Minister said that he had talked with his Meghalaya counterpart to give recognition to the Meitei people settled at Goladhand.
Those Meitei people have been included in the voter list of Meghalaya, he said.
Saying that MLA L Rameshwor was sent to Meghalaya to collect a first hand account of the difficulties faced by Meitei community there, the Chief Minister stated that the MLA was sent there with an intention to rehabilitate those Meitei people in Manipur in case they find it very hard to live in Meghalaya.
However, they maintained that they can live there provided they are given all their rights by the Government of Meghalaya.
As such, the State Government has been working to ensure that the Government of Meghalaya recognises them and give all the rights and opportunities entitled to citizens of the State, Biren added.
