153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, National Cleanliness Day celebrated

The College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University organised a cleanliness drive within their Iroisemba campus in celebration of the 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and National Cleanliness Day.
The faculty members, non-teaching staff, scientists and students under the leadership of Professor Indira Sarangthem, Dean CoA, CAU carried out intensive cleaning of the campus.
Following this, a floral tribute was offered to the bust of Mahatma Gandhi.
Students of CoA also carried out a cleanliness drive at CAU Headquarters located in Lamphelpat today.
Separately, Karam Shyam, MLA Langthabal constituency has asserted that Manipur will truly develop only when well-rounded youths take the lead in building a worthwhile Manipuri society.
The MLA made this statement at a tree sapling plantation and cleanliness initiative organised at Pureilomba Eco Park, Lilong Chajing today in connection with National Cleanliness Day, the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri and the conclusion of Seva Pakhwada.
The MLA stated that the future is in the hands of the youth and as such expressed hope for the youth to be exemplary in all aspects.
Altogether 72 tree saplings were planted and a cleanliness drive was conducted in the surrounding areas of Pureilomba Eco Park.
