MLA Rameshwor inaugurates new building of UADCOC

A new building of Urup Arapti Development Co-Ordinating Committee (UADCOC), Arapti Lilong Mapal Kangjeibung, an apex body of 12 clubs of Urup and Arapti, was inaugurated by PDA chairman and Keirao MLA Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei on Sunday.
The inaugural function of the building constructed at a cost of Rs 25 lakh with public contribution and Rs 3.5 lakh donation by the local MLA was attended by MLA Rameshwor as chief guest and UADCOC president Khulem Chandrababu as president, while Lilong (Thoubal) Municipal Council Ward No.9 former members Phamdom Beinaskar, Mayanglambam Ramananda and Takhellambam Sanahal Meitei were present as guests of honour.
Kiyamgei Muslim Arapti Gram Panchayat and Keirao Makting GP members also attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Rameshwor remarked that development cannot be accelerated if there is no unity amongst the people and as such urged UADCOC to work as one for the progress of the two villages.
He also assured to contribute his mite for the uplift of the villages and confided that efforts are on for construction of an indoor stadium at Arapti Lilong Mapal Kangjeibung under Khelo India.
Further stating that a veterinary office has been set up near Arapti Mayai Leikai ground, the MLA said a dispensary will also be opened in the area at the soonest possible.
In case of road connectivity, process for construction of a road from District Hospital, Kyamgei to Phunal Maring Salam Santrok is almost complete, he added.
