CRPF units conduct cleanliness drive

In commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti and celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 86 Bn CRPF, Lamphelpat organised a cleanliness drive along the Sanakeithel, Lamphelpat and surroundings of RIMS hospital on Sunday under the supervision of its commandant Mohamand Yusuf.
A release by 86 Bn CRPF informed that during the cleanliness drive the garbage in and around the roadsides of Sanakeithel and nearby areas of RIMS were cleaned and disposed of.
All jawans, sub-ordinate officers and officers of the battalion volunteered for the noble exercise and together carried out the cleanliness drive successfully much to the delight of the civilian public.
The cleanliness drive was much appreciated by the local populace of Lamphelpat, the release added.
69 Bn CRPF also observed Gandhi Jayanti on Sunday and carried out a cleanliness drive at IOCL Civil Convoy marching ground near Mantripukhri, and Shree Shree Shree Ma Kali Mandir, Mantripukhri.
The aim of the cleanliness drive was to motivate and encourage the unit personnel and the general public to keep the surroundings clean and hygienic which in turn will help keep everybody healthy and fit, said a release of the battalion.
Along with spearheading the cleanliness campaign, commandant Bajrang Lal emphasised on the cascading effects of unhygienic environment towards our health.
The officers and men of 69 Bn participated in the cleanliness drive and witnessed by residents of nearby villages who appreciated the activities, the release said.
69 Battalion, CRPF apart from its operational commitments is dedicated towards a healthy environment by declaring our camp as plastic free campus and by constantly keeping the surroundings clean and also by campaigning against the use of plastic with the slogan "Say No To Plastic", it informed.
