FCI buffer stock will last 120 days: DM

Informing that Food Corporation of India (FCI), Manipur has buffer stock sufficient for 120 days (4 months), divisional man-ager Adani Mahrili Mao has assured food security to the people of Manipur in these times of unrest.
In a release, Adani con-veyed FCI's solidarity to those working for bringing peace and normalcy in the state.
Pointing out that the FCI is making all out efforts to help the people who have been affected by the recent clashes, the divisional man-ager maintained that FCI has been supplying rice as per the request of the state government and the dep-uty commissioners of the districts concerned on the same day the indent of rice is made.
A total of 2000 MT rice has been allocated for relief work under Open Market Sale Scheme, OMSS (D) for distribution to various re-lief camps set up for people evacuated from violence- hit districts and other uses, the divisional manager in-formed, adding that, FCI has been working tirelessly and issued approximate-ly 5000 quintals of rice for relief works.
The Food Corporation of India, Manipur will contin-ue to support and stand by the people and ensure food security to the people of the state, Adani affirmed.
