Road blocks enforced in Kangpokpi district

Imphal, May 11 2023:
Several Imphal-bound trucks loaded with essential commodities are stranded along the Imphal-Dimapur road as the road was blocked at Motbung, Keithelmanbi, Sapermeina and Kangpokpi on Thursday.
The road was blocked by felling trees and burning tyres.
Till Thursday evening 125 vehicles including 32 oil tankers are stranded at Lairouching.
Meanwhile, 254 displaced victims taking shelter at 8th AR camp located Kasom Khullen were evacuated safely to Imphal on Thursday.

According to our Kang-pokpi correspondent, large number of people prevented movement trucks loaded with essential commod-ities towards Imphal side by setting up road blocks from Kangpokpi town till Motbung and from Kang-pokpi town to Taphou Kuki towards the Dimapur side.
The irate mob at Kang-pokpi town also burnt down near Downtown I T road around noon.
Blockade of the high-way with boulders, fogs and burning tyres was enforced at Hengbung, Motbung, Keithelmanbi, Leikop, Saparmeina and South Changoubung in Kangpokpi district.
The mob was seen trans-ported in Shaktiman, DI Tata, Autorickshaws to various locations with most of them armed with slingshots.
