Imphal, May 11 2023:
The North Ameri-can Manipur Association (NAMA) has expressed shock over the situation unfolding amongst the 'brothers and sisters' in Manipur.
In a statement, NAMA extended its sympathy and heartfelt compassion to all affected people, who have lost loved ones, homes and properties.
It appealed to all parties to engage in a sin-cere effort to recover from the devastation and ensure safety and well-being of all individuals and properties.
NAMA further urged ev-eryone "to reflect on our long shared history and to remember that we are connected to each other in many more ways than we are different.
It is through embracing our diversity and understanding each other's point of view that a stronger and more resilient Manipur can emerge".
"We urge all stakehold-ers to initiate and engage in constructive conversation guided by empathy and a shared commitment to find-ing peaceful solutions.
As an organisation dedicated to promoting the welfare and interest of Manipur diaspo-ra, we remain committed to fostering a peaceful, inclu-sive, and harmonious society both within the NAMA fam-ily in North America and in Manipur.
We stand united in our belief that through em-pathy, compassion, respect for all human lives and open dialogue, we can overcome challenges and build a better future together," it added.
