Imphal, May 11 2023:
The JAC for Missing Atom Samarendra and Yumkhaibam Kirankumar has asked if there is a hidden agenda for not taking the help of State police in carrying out the rescue operation of the missing duo by the paramilitary forces.
Samarendra (47), s/o Krishnamohon and Kirankumar (47); s/o Kalajit both of Khumbong Bazar were last seen going out to--gether in a Renault Kwid on May 6 from their locality.
Speaking to the media, convenor of the JAC Irengbam Gandhijit asked the authorities concerned to make public why the State police is not used in carrying out the rescue operation at the adjoining villages of Sangaithel near Olympian Park where the last known signal of the mobile phones of the two missing persons was traced.
Today, sit-in protests were staged at Ngairangbam Mayai Leikai, Ngairangbam Maning Leikai and Khumbong Bazar demanding safe release/rescue of Atom Samarendra and Yumkhaibam Kirankumar.
At Khumbong Bazar, Gandhijit continued that fhe Government not being able to locate the whereabouts of the missing duo till today is disappointing.
Saying that they don't know how serious the paramilitary forces are in carrying out the rescue operation, he asked if there is a hidden agenda for not using the State police in searching for the two.
He then said that they will launch an intense agitation if Samarendra and Kirankumar are not released or rescued at the earliest.
