Assembly session from Feb 28 to Mar 5

Imphal, February 14 2024:
The fifth session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly will be held in five sessions from February 28 to March 5, as per the provisional calendar of sitting fixed by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) during a meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting held around 1pm with speaker Thokchom Satyabrata in the chair, had the BAC fixing the provisional calendar of sitting.
On the first day on February 28, Governor Anusuiya Uikey will address the house, followed by Motion of Thanks.
After obituary references, the BAC report will be presented, followed by presentation of Supplementary Demands for Grants, 2023-24, Budget Estimates, 2014 and Motion for Vote of Accounts, 2024-25 .
On February 29, the business will consist of questions hour, after which general discussion on Supplementary Demands for Grants 2023-24, discussion and voting on Supplementary Demands for Grants 2023-24, discussion and voting on Motion for Vote of Accounts, 2024-25, and Manipur Appropriation Bill(s) will be presented.
On March 1, there will be question hour and Manipur Appropriation Bill(s) will be considered for passing.
As March 2 and 3 fall on Saturday and Sunday, there will be no sitting.
On March 4, there will be question hour and committee reports will be presented; while on March 5, there will be question hours and other businesses, if any, will be discussed.
The BAC meeting was attended by chief minister N Biren, opposition leader O Ibobi, education minister Th Basanta Kumar, JD-U MLA Md Abdul Nasir and NPP MLA N Kayisii.
