86 Bn CRPF distributes solar street lights

A civic action programme was conducted by 86 Battalion CRPF for the villagers of Longmai Part-II under Noney district today in the area of responsibility of the battalion.
A statement by 86 Bn CRPF said the solar street lights were distributed to the needy villagers during the civic action programme which was conducted under the aegis of Akhilesh Prasad Singh, IG Manipur and Nagaland Sector CRPF and under the supervision of Mohamand Yusuf, Commandant 86 Battalion CRPF.
In the context of the civic action programme, a meeting was held with the villagers of Longmai Part-II village wherein the villagers requested the Commandant of 86 Battalion CRPF to provide solar street lights as there is acute problem of electricity especially during monsoon.
Keeping in view of the problems faced by the villagers, the Commandant of 86 Bn CRPF distributed solar street lights to the needy villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commandant said that the civic action programme is conducted to extend help to the needy areas for worthy utilization of Government grants meant for the relevant purposes.
These items were distributed solely in the interest of local villagers to fulfil the requirements of the needy villagers and to maintain the cordial relation between security forces and local people to ensure that they get the light of the development and prosperity, he said.
