Governor, CM extend Lui-Ngai-Ni greetings

Governor Anusuiya Uikey and chief minister N Biren extended heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur especially the Naga community on the joyous occasion of Lui-Ngai-Ni, which falls on February 15 (Thursday) .
The Governor, in her message, stated that Lui-Ngai-Ni is a composite festival of all Nagas of Manipur celebrated every year on February 15 for the bountiful and bumper harvest.
"Blessings of almighty are sought on the occasion.
This festival is recognised as tourist festival, occupying a unique position not only among the Nagas but also among other communities.
The festival brings together different communities towards the goals of peace, harmony and humanism, irrespective of caste or religion," she said, while praying for peace and prosperity of Manipur and its people.
CM N Biren, in his message, pointed out that the festival brings festivity rejoice, where the community pays their homage to the God and pray for their good health and prosperity.
The state is passing through a rough phase and its fabric of peace and age old bonding among different communities has been disturbed.
The festival holds relevance now, as it teaches us to share joy with one another and also promotes communal integration and harmony, while strengthening the bond of oneness amongst the people, he maintained, while praying that the festival brings peace and happiness in the state again, which everyone is longing for.
