TCMDC, AKSDO, CRAU & Al-Ameen triumph in MNCA Men's U-19 Tournament

Imphal, February 14 2024:
TCMDC, AKSDO, CRAU and Al-Ameen all prevailed in Wednesday's round of matches in the 2nd MNCA Mens U-19 Tournament played across four venues.
TCMDC thumped YPHUC by 9 wickets in their league contest at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, Thoubal.
TCMDC dished out a clinical bowling spell to bundle out YPHUC for a paltry 52 in 16.3 overs.
Laishram Valindra Singh led the TCMDC onslaught with 4 scalps while Ringku Kangujam picked up 3 wickets, with Rain Urikhimbam, Nepram Richer Singh and Albert Sorokhaibam taking one apiece to lay the foundation for their side's win.
Lann Naorem, who scored 21, was the lone bright spot for YPHUC in their innings.
In response, TCMDC took just 5.5 overs to finish off their opponents, with 9 wickets remaining.
Laishram Vivekananda Singh (33 not out) and Thomsan (6 not out) guided TCMDC to victory after Waikhom Mathoi Meitei (12) fell prey to Irom Ishor's bowling.
AKSDO outplayed ESU by 5 wickets in their meeting at Model Hr.
Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
ESU opted to bat and were dismissed for 117 in 33.4 overs.
In the innings, Sagolshem Ronal Meitei (49) was the main run scorer.
AKSDO's bowling attack saw Sanayai Ningthoujam claim 3 wickets, Saikhom Lanchenba Meitei and Akash Laishram take 2 each, and Laishram Nirash Singh, Saikhom Kaiku Singh and Laishram Nungshiba Singh bag one each.
AKSDO then needed 23.5 overs to eclipse ESU's total for the loss of 5 wickets.
In the chase, Akash Laishram (39), Winchelly Laishram (27) and Bishorjit Mangang (21) did the majority of the work to secure the victory.
In the process, three of AKSDO's batters fell to Soibam Venus Singh and one each to Bishomcha Khundrakpam and Hanjabam Donba Sharma.
CRAU notched up a 33-run success against CYCLONE in a low-scoring match at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Electing to bat, CRAU could only muster 93 after being bowled out in 21.2 overs.
Boocker Kangjam (25 not out), Khumanthem Prakash Singh (15) and Elangbam Rohit Singh (14) were the only batters who managed to reach double figures in their innings.
For CYCLONE, Shinoj Khwairakpam and Aribam Ronald Sharma both grabbed 3 wickets, Aditya Das picked up 2, and Ronak Chaudhary took one.
Despite their dismal batting effort, CRAU turned the tide in their favour, thanks to a superb bowling display by their bowling unit that skittled out CYCLONE in 17 overs for 60.Heishnam Joyhenba Meitei led the scalping with 4 wickets while Boocker Kangjam picked up 3 wickets, Kh Lohitsun collected 2 and Khumanthem Prakash Singh took one in their triumph.
Al-Ameen, meanwhile, beat TRAU by 18 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.
Put in to bat, Al-Ameen were bowled out for 87 in 14.5 overs, with only Mohd Sagir Ahamed (48) contributing to their total.
In the process, they lost 4 wickets to Subham Raut, 3 to Preethson Arubam, and one each to Mutum Swabhiman and Aditya Thingnam.
Chasing a low total, TRAU struggled to cope with Al-Ameen's disciplined bowling assault, finishing on 69 after being bowled in 25.3 overs.
Md Ziour Rahman picked up 3 wickets, Mohd Sagir Ahamed claimed 2, and Naeem Ahamad and Md Abdul Kayum took one each for Al-Ameen in their win.
