ZSU-SZ cleans Senapati river

Senapati, February 14 2024:
Zeliangrong Students' Union, Senapati Zone (ZSU-SZ) on Wednesday organised a river clean-up programme under the banner "Save water" to demonstrate to the public the importance of water to humanity.
Gabriel Chawang, president ZSU-SZ, told the media that the cleanliness drive along the Senapati river was organised by the Union on the occasion of Valentine's Day in order to raise awareness.
The student leader also emphasised the importance of how one individual can raise awareness about water conservation.
The drive, sponsored by Dr Alyson Abonmai, an intending candidate for the 18th Lok Sabha, was held in collaboration with 109 Battalion CRPF and students from different schools, he added.
Dr Alyson Abonmei explained that cleanliness drive was centred on the theme "Clean river, save water", stressing the need for everyone's involvement in keeping the river clean and saving water in the district headquarters, as well as creating a site where water is always available.
Around 300 students and volunteers participated in the cleanliness drive.
