UNLF condoles demise of Haobam Kanhai

The Koireng-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has extended its deepest condolences on the untimely demise of Haobam Kanhai, who worked for the outfit wholeheartedly during the outfit's initial period.
According to a UNLF statement issued by publicity secretary M Sak-Hen, Haobam Kanhai passed away on February 2, 2024 at his Wangkhei Thangapat Mapal residence.
Recounting that Kanhai, who was born on October 3, 1942 and joined UNLF in 1965, was a strong man with well-built body and worked enthusiastically for the organisation at any place and time, the statement informed that Kanhai was one of the representatives of the Front who went to East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) in 1967 and established relation with foreign countries.
Further stating that Kanhai yearned for a sovereign Manipur, the secretary shared pain and grief of Kanhai's bereaved family and prayed for his soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
