CRPF provides solar lights to Honey village

Imphal, February 14 2024:
As part of its Civic Action Programme, 86 Battalion CRPF distributed solar street lights to villagers of Longmai Part-II, Noney district on Wednesday.
The distribution programme held under the aegis of Akhilesh Prasad Singh, I& Manipur & Nagaland Sector CRPF, was attended by Mohamand Yusuf, commandant 86 Bn, other 86 Bn CRPF officers, chairman and chief of Longmai Part-II village.
The distribution of solar street lights was carried out in response to desperate need of the villagers, who during a meeting held earlier requested the Battalion commandant to provide solar street lights due to electricity problems faced by the village during the rainy season.
While addressing the gathering, commandant Yusuf stated that this type of initiative was carried out with the intention of extending assistance to the needy areas in order to make good use of the government funding allocated for the purpose.
These items were distributed only for the benefit of local villagers in order to meet their needs and preserve a cordial relationship between security personnel and locals so that villagers can see the light of progress and prosperity, he added.
During the event, the village chief and locals thanked the CRPF unit for the initiative and expressed their wish for many more similar events in the future.
