Maram Battalion Assam Rifles distributed 10 sewing machines and a computer set with printer to residents of Oinam village in Senapati district to enhance skill development opportunities and promote digital literacy among the villagers.
According to PRO IGAR (E), the distribution ceremony on Wednesday, witnessed enthusiastic participation of Oinam villagers.
The sewing machines will enable women to explore entrepreneurship opportunities and become self-reliant by starting their own tailoring businesses.
Furthermore, the provision of computer set with printer to government high school will facilitate access to digital education and technology-enabled services thereby empowering the students and youth with essential skills of the digital literacy.
The initiative aligns with Assam Rifles mission to foster socio -economic development and meaningful upliftment of all strata of society in the region.
Maram Battalion commandant reiterated Assam Rifles' commitment towards supporting local communities and the organisation's dedication to serving the people of the region, added the PRO.
