Imphal MSME Technology Centre inaugurated

Along with inaugurating four technology centres across the country, Union Minister for MSME Narayan Rane opened the MSME Technology Centre, Imphal, via online on Wednesday.
The union minister inaugurated multiple technology and extension centres, and development and facilitation offices across the country.
The function was also held at the Imphal MSME Technology Centre located at Nilakuthi Food Park.
Speaking at the event, deputy director Dr Sinam Yoirentomba Meetei informed that the Imphal MSME technology centre has been included among 17 newly established technology centres in the country in addition to the already existing 18 centres.
The union minister inaugurated 4 MSME technology centres, one each in Noida, Kanpur, Baddi and Imphal.
The minister was physically present during the inauguration in Noida while for the other three centres including two MSME DFOs and one Nuclear Cell the inaugurations were conducted in virtual mode, he said.
Dr Yoirentomba informed that the MSME technology centre will help in value addition of products of the state and bring out value added product which will further help in reducing the unemployment problems in the state.
Only when the products, whether it is ginger or turmeric which are abundantly found in the state, are converted into value added products, can one get exact commercial value of the product's, he said and added that now we will be able to bring out value added products of different aromatic plants found in the state.
Dr Yoirentomba also said that the state will be producing products at the level of NABL accredited goods with the arrival of some machines needed for the same.
The ministry has assured that tender for procurement of the machines will be floated within this month.
The MSME technology centre will help in carrying out high end researches, he added.
