Manipur amass 25 medals on Day 2 at Nat'l Masters Athletic C'ship

Manipur amassed as many as 10 gold, 10 silver and 5 bronze medals on the second day of the 44th National Masters Athletic Championship being underway in Pune.
Manipur won four gold medals and four bronze medals yesterday and with today's medal haul Manipur's tally swelled to 14 gold, 10 silver and 9 bronze medals at the championship.
Yesterday, W Subita, Th Akasini and S Babuyaima won gold medals in women's 70+, women's 75+ and men's 70+ 800 m race while L Bembem won a gold medal in the 45+ women's triple jump event with a 8 m 73 cm finish.
The athletes who added gold medals to the State's tally include Th Ibocha who topped 80+ men's long jump with a 3.64 m finish, Th Brajamani who topped 5 km walk race by taking 27 minutes and 14.34 seconds, K Shama who soared 90 cm in the 70+ women's high jump.
Th Radhesana who topped 45+ women's 80 m hurdles in 15.13 seconds, Th Biren who topped 70+ men's shot put event with a 10.34 m throw, T Umesh who topped 40+ men's 110m hurdles by taking 18.27 seconds, L Ashakumar who topped 55+ men's 400 m race with a time of 1 minute and 2.3 seconds, Ph Purnimashi who topped 60+ women's 80 m hurdles taking 20.12 seconds, L Bhubon who topped 75+ men's 80 m hurdles with a time of 22.12 seconds and S Kunjakishore who topped 65+ men's javelin throw competition with a 45.78 m throw.
