ESU thump PSC to extend lead at top of group in MNCA Superplate Tournament

ESU extended their lead at the top of Group B table with a nine-wicket thrashing of PSC in the MNCA Superplate Tournament on Friday.
ESU restricted PSC to 123/6 in a match reduced to 20 overs.
PSC's innings saw Prasantajit Sharma top-score with 60, followed by Ningthoujam Ranjan (30), Thokchom Lellel (13), Moirangthem Thomson ill) and Laishram Devmart (1 not out) .
For ESU, Chitaranjan Sharma and Chongtham Mehul Shreth picked up two wickets apiece.
ESU then chased down the target with ease, wrapping up the chase in 11.3 overs courtesy of Mehul Shreth (58 not nout), Sanatomba (36 not out) and Lonjam Herojit (18), who was caught off Moiranthem Thomson's bowling.
Chongtham Mehul Shreth claimed the man of the match trophy for his unbeaten 58 and two scalps in four overs.
It was ESU's sixth win from their seven matches that helped them extend their lead at the top of Group B standings with 12 points, four points ahead of both YUCC and KASC.
Meanwhile, the match between RCA and WYC at Public Ground, Khangabok Cherapur was abandoned due to unplayable field conditions.
