1st MNCA Men's U-19 One Day Trophy : PCC crush SHADOW by 9 wkts in tourney opener

The 1st MNCA Men's U-19 One Day Trophy kicked off with PCC-Mayaikoibi crushing SHADOW-Thangmeiband by 9 wickets at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground.
PCC chose to field first and held SHADOW to 92 for 8 in alloted 20 overs courtesy of economical bowling performances and chased down the target in 14.4 overs thanks to Takhelmayum Vikash's unbeaten half century to open their Group (B) campaign in style.
SHADOW started cautiously but PCC found the breakthrough by removing Naoshekpam Manglemba Meetei in the fourth over for 11 runs before Ajay Mahto Kumar caught and bowled Nirmal Mishra for 5 runs in the next over.

SHADOW were further reduced to 21/4 in 6.1 overs with Yoihenba Thoudam getting run out for 1 and Sapam Bikash getting caught and bowled by Laitonjam Anjan in the 6th and the 7th overs respectively.
Paras Sharma (33) and Dennis (14) gave SHADOW some relief as the duo gathered 50 runs off 58 balls before Paras Sharma holed out to Kangabam Themission off the bowling of Mairembam Lucky in the 5th delivery of the 16th over.
The slump continued with Pravin Kumar of PCC outwitting Deniss and Reolin Oinam for the 6th and the 7 wickets in the second and fifth delivery of the 17th over to deny a late momentum.
Guite Khualminlian was unbeaten on 11 as the innings culminated with Ansh Lairenjam getting rid of James Sahu for 7 runs.
Pravin Kumar of PCC returned with the best bowling figures of 2/11 in two overs.
In reply, PCC only lost Max Warokpam for 6 runs in the 5th over as Takhelmayum Vikash smacked six fours and three sixes on the way to his unbeaten 44-ball 62 to power PCC to a winning 96 for 1 with the assistance of Ajay Mahto (15 not out) .
Vikash was eventually adjudged man of the match.
