Imphal, April 21 2023:
THAU (Thangmeiband) were crowned champions of the 2nd MNCA Women's T-20 Trophy after they beat PTRC by nine wickets in a one-sided final match played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Friday.
The Thangmeiband side restricted PTRC to 95/7 in their 20 overs and then they knocked off the target in 13.4 overs to script one of their most memorable wins.
THAU applied pressure on their opponents with a disciplined bowling attack that left PTRC struggling for big runs in their innings where RK Linthoingambi (29), Ranjita Koijam (19), Linthoingambi Chanu (17) and Bidyarani (10) were the only batters who got into double figures.
Meri Keithellakpam was the pick of THAU's bowlers with three wickets and Monica Keithellakpam did her bit with two scalps.
THAU then made short work of their run chase as efforts by Seterny Brahmacharimayum (45 not out), Kalpana Keisham (38) and Niruta Thoubam (6 not out) helped their team achieve the target in dominant style.
Kalpana was dismissed by RK Linthoingambi.
Among the individual prize winners of the tournament were PTRC's RK Linthoingambi (player of the series), THAU's Niruta Thoudam (highest wicket-taker), THAU's Keisham Kalpana (highest run-scorer) and THAU's Meri Keithellakpam (player of the final match) .
