Significance of Civil Services Day underscored

The Indian civil service system is the backbone of the country's administrative functions and the administrators need to redouble efforts to serve the public more effectively.
The statement was made by Kangpokpi Deputy Commissioner, Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, during the observance of the Civil Services Day, 2023 organised by the District Administration Kangpokpi at the Multipurpose Hall, DC Office, Kangpokpi today.
She further said that the Civil Services Day gives an opportunity to the civil servants of India to rededicate themselves and renew their commitment to the public service and also briefed on the history of the day.
Speaking at the occasion, Divisional Forests Officer (DFO), N Ganesh, IFS and Superintendent of Police (SP), Th Vikramjit Singh, MPS deliberated on the responsibilities of the civil servants and stressed on how to bridge the gap between the bureaucrats and the public for the efficient functioning of the society.

The function was also attended by Derick L Khobung, ADC/ADM; James Doujapao Haokip, CEO SH-ADC; Sub Divisional Officers of the Kangpokpi district; SDC HQ; District Level Officers; staff of the DC Office among others.
Thoubal
As observed in different parts of the country, Civil Services Day was also observed in Thoubal District.
At the function held at Conference hall, Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, A Subhash Singh IAS urged all District Level Officers to work towards solving issues faced by the common man by using digital services.
He said using digital services will reduce the corruption menace faced by common people.
He also appealed to the officers to be responsible and ease the life of common people by providing the services necessitated by them.
The program was attended by SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam IPS; ADM Thoubal B Lokeshor Sharma; AC to DC; SDO Thoubal and Lilong and all District level Officers of various Departments.
Kamjong
The 16th Civil Services day was also observed today at Kamjong district organized by the District Administration, the observance was held for two days i.e April 20-21 at the DC Kamjong Camp Office.
The observation was held simultaneously all over the country on the theme "Viksit Bharat: Empowering Citizens & Reaching the Last Mile' .
DC Rangnamei Rang Peter; SP P Manjit; CEO/UADC; ADC Kamjong; all SDOs/BDOs, DLOs of Kamjong district and staff members of DC office attended the program.
On the second day of the observation today, the attendees listened to the address given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through live video telecast and committed themselves to render administrative services to the society and the general public more effectively.
