NAPSA, SDC triumph in MNCA Plate Tournament

Imphal, January 15 2023:
NAPSA (Kha Imphal) and SDC (Laipham Khunou) emerged the victors in the Sunday's matches of the 7th MNCA Plate Tournament.
NAPSA outperformed KIYC (Kshetrigao) by two wickets at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium., Electing to bat, KIYC wilted under pressure in the face of Tongbram Dhanakuber Singh's lethal bowling display, managing 153 after being bowled out in 27.2 overs.
The Kshetrigao side's innings saw Mohd Abdul Hamid score an unbeaten 35, Md Kaosar make 30 and Mohammad Abdulla Khan collect 20, coupled with contributions from Md Yaseer Khan (17), Mujibur Rahman (14) and Aneesh Ahmed (12).Tongbram Dhanakuber racked up five wickets while Nepram Richer Singh and Heisnam Boney claimed two scalps apiece, with Rocky Yumnam taking one wicket to lay the foundation for NAPSA's victory.
NAPSA then needed 34.5 overs to eclipse KIYC's total, losing eight wickets in their run chase.
Bipin Ningthoujam topscored in their win with a 46-run knock as Tongbram Dhanakuber was unbeaten on 30.Sengtung (15), Prem-ananda Ahongsangbam (13) and Chingkhei Kshetrimayum were other contributors in double digits for NAPSA.
For KIYC, Azmad Kh was the pick of the bowlers bagging four wickets while Mv Md Aman, Aneesh Ahmad, Mohammad Abdulla Khan and Mujibur Rahman took one each.
Tongbram Dhanakuber earned the man of the match accolade for his 30 (not out) and five wickets.
The win sees NAPSA overtake RRCC atop the Group A point table with six points from three matches.
SDC, meanwhile, handed a three-wicket defeat to YWC (Patsoi) in their Group B match at Oriental College.
SDC bundled out YWC for 147 in 39.2 overs courtesy of Thangboi Doungel who snapped three wickets, backed up by two wickets each from Deepak Sahani, Bollanath and Khundrakpam Subhachandra, coupled with one from Donny.
In the YWC innings, Ashishkumar Wakongthem scored 29 while both Laikhuram Jagat and Konsham Kishan contributed 27 .
Grison Laitonjam got 13.In their response, SDC batted 38.2 overs to achieve the target with three wickets remaining.
The Laipham Khunou owed their successful chase to key run-getters Donny (32), Khundrakpam Lemba (21), Mayanglambam Marjit (18 not out), Konjengbam Monish (17) and Kaleb Singh Kh (9 not out).
In the process, SDC lost three wickets to Laikhuram Jagat, two to Thoungamba M, and one each to Sagolsem Mangalsana Meitei and Nickel Loukrakpam.
Donny Laishram, who scored 32 and took one wicket, was named the man of the match.
