Two-day capacity building programme held

Imphal, January 15 2023:
A two-day capacity building/interactive programme for the PLVs, legal service personnel and police personnel was held on Saturday and Sunday at IB Guest House, Moreh Police Complex in Tengnoupal district.
According to a Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) release, the programme was organised by District Legal Services Authority, Chandel in collaboration with Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) under the topics 'accessing courts and legal remedies/procedure for filing complaints in police stations, police-public relationship and legal services through Tele-Law under Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice (DISHA) Scheme' .
Imphal West District and Sessions judge A Gunesh-war Sharma, Imphal East District and Sessions judge RK Memcha Devi, Thoubal District and Sessions judge Binny Ngangom, MASLSA member secretary Ojesh Mutum and additional member secretary Binesh-wori Maibam attended the programme as presidium members.
During the programme, Tengnoupal district additional SP (L&O) Oinam Sukumar delivered the welcome address as resource persons A Guneshwar Sharma, RK Memcha Devi and Ojesh Mutum deliberated on the aforementioned topic to the participants.
An interactive session was also held between the resource persons and the participants.
Further, JMFC/CJJD, Moreh Sarungbam Mangaleibi delivered vote of thanks for the programme.
Mention may be made that Legal Services through Tele Law under DISHA Scheme is a unique initiative scheme of Department of Justice, where legal advice/consultation may be obtained from registered advocates on telephone or video conferencing using a mobile application or through the Common Service Centres (CSC) .
The categories that will receive free services are woman, children, SC/ST, industrial employee/workers/labourers, victims of natural disasters such as earthquakes, flood, droughts, victims of caste violence and human trafficking, BPL family and people who are in custody.
