Imphal, January 15 2023:
Claiming that the State Government has absorbed 25 Programme Officers (POs) and Assistant Programme Officers (APOs) as Grade-II and III staff of the Education Services erroneously, the Manipur Government Services' Federation (MGSF) has resolved to file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the alleged misconduct at the Court.
The Federation also appealed to the State Government to release the pending benefits of pensioners and take up an initiative to promote eligible primary teachers.
Speaking to media persons at Sanjenthong today, MGSF vice president L Sarat said that Manipur Education Services (MES) was introduced in 2012 to improve the education sector of the State.
Saying that only Government teachers and Headmasters who have completed Master degree or B.ed and have completed 10 years of regular services are eligible to be absorbed to Grade-II and III posts as per the guidelines of MES, Sarat maintained that the posts can be given only after clearing the Departmental Examination of MES.
Claiming that 25 POs and APOs, however, have been absorbed to the Grade- II and III posts without fulfilling the criteria and only as per a Cabinet decision, he said that such absorption of staff harms the interest of the staff, discourage Government teachers and Headmasters in feeder posts and demotivate many educated youths.
He said that MGSF has decided to file a PIL at the Court as the Government failed to respond to the complaint lodged to them.
