Senapati, January 15 2023:
Water resources minister Awangbow Newmai has said that God has given talents equally and people of the NE region are blessed with creativity but many end up doing nothing as they could not explore and develop own talents.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of 'Cultural Regale' of Maram Students' Union (MKS) at Maram Khullen village in Senapati district on Sunday as the chief guest, minister Awangbow observed that many people consider themselves to be inferior from others though God has given talents equally.
As some are hesitant to explore own talent they fail in life without and end up doing nothing, he said and stressed the need for discovering hidden talents in time.
Karong MLA Kumo Sha, who also attended the event, expressed confidence that the conference will be a successful one.
The MLA said that he has been taking part in almost all the programmes organised by MKS and urged the students' body to organise another conference with the theme 'Fulfilment'.
He said that the theme of the programme was most appropriate.
All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) president Luikang Bruce, in his greeting, said that he was the first president representing the Maram community.
He also termed the programme a historic one by bringing back the student community to the ancestral village of Maram community at Maram Khullen.
Even though people have scattered to live at different places in the district, the gathering at the ancestral village signifies coming back and celebrating at the place one day, he opined.
Cultural display from Maram Khullen, harmonious steps from Thangal Students' Union (TAJ), 'Wa' dance from Maring Students' Union and cultural blend from Katomei Youth & Students' Organisation were the main highlights of the opening ceremony.
