AMUCO launches inspection drive of rehabilitation centres

A team of All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has launched an inspection drive of rehabilitation centres who are members of the United Rehabilitation Centre (URC), Manipur.
According to a statement issued by Laishram Krishnachandra Khuman, secretary publicity, AMUCO, the team was led by Dr Norendro Thokchom, secretary general, AMUCO.
The AMUCO team was also accompanied by the president and secretary of URC, Manipur.
The statement added that the main goal of the inspection drive is to find a way to tackle the ever-increasing trend of abuse of narcotic substances by the youth.
AMUCO stated that it is high time for people to take responsibility and do their part in solving this crisis as youths of the State continue to fall prey to the vice of drugs, end up losing their lives in unfortunate cases and cause harm to the society in general.
The statement opined that in order to bring about a change in this aspect, there needs to be a common consensus and understanding.
AMUCO also advised against mistreatment of drug abusers and lauded the role of rehabilitation centres and their doctors in this connection.
AMUCO also called for a strengthening of local clubs, organisations and meira paibis and urged them to keep a close watch over the youths in their areas to save them from drug abuse.
Lastly, the statement shared that AMUCO will launch interactive sessions with the youth at playgrounds, schools, etc in the future and sought the people's support in this regard.
