Ex-CM pitches for improving education sector

Underlining the roles and responsibilities of contemporary students for a better future, former chief minister O Ibobi has stressed the need for improving the education sector in order to bring about a better society, a better Manipur and a better nation.
Speaking as chief guest at the 25th foundation day celebration of RUDA Academy, Thoubal held at the academy's premises on Sunday, Ibobi pointed out that good students are the role models of other students.
As developing a nation or a society needs contribution from all, both public and private sector have to play major roles in bringing development, he said, adding that education is one such sector where both the public and private sectors should put their best efforts to bring out the best from the students.
Ibobi also motivated the students to use their time optimally as the past will never return.
He also spoke on the importance of education in bringing unity, cordial relationship and respect for one another.
NCC Imphal unit group commander brigadier Sandeep Jhunjha and retired group captain of Indian Air Force Ksh Shyamkesho were respectively president and guest of honour of the function during which students, who excelled in academic and sports performances were encouraged apart from presen tation of cultural programmes by students of the school.
