Veteran Cricket : YPHU beat YCC by 32 runs

YPHU-Lalambung beat YCC-Wangkhei Koijam Leikai by 32 runs in the 19th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament Group B opener today at Luker Ground.
YPHU racked up a total of 203 runs for 8 in allotted 30 overs after being put in to bat first and restricted YCC to 171 runs for 7 to seal their first win.
Pyralal hit a half century (73 off 62 balls) in YPHU's innings while Shashikanta (29), Kenny (21) and Surjit (16) made valuable contributions.
YCC's Everest, Premananda and Sanjit picked up two wickets each as Robinchandra managed one.
In reply, Robinchandra (23), Naresh (28), Swami (21), Premananda (32) and Shantikumar (20) batted well for YCC but finished their chase with 171 runs as YPHU bowlers proved too economical.
Beda of YPHU clinched two wickets in this innings as Pyralal, Meiraba and Gyanranjan claimed a wicket each.
Pyralal was eventually adjudged man of the match.
UCC will play CHAMP in the second Group A match of the tournament tomorrow.
