Kangpokpi bodies roll out red carpet to MMA fighter Satgunhao Kipgen

Kangpokpi, December 12 2022:
Manipur's Mixed Martial Arts fighter from Kangpokpi, Satgunhao Kipgen added another feather to his cap by winning another gold medal at the recently concluded All India Mix Martial Arts Federation (AIMMAF) National Championship in Goa.
The young MMA fighter also won a gold medal at Goa Night Fight Pro Fighters and got selected for the world championships to be held very soon.
Considering his great achievements, the Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi, Thadou Inpi, KSO, TSA, Kipgen Khanglai Kiloikhom, family members and well wishers rolled out red carpet for the MMA fighter at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport as he returned from Goa this morning.

They welcomed him with a garland and a traditional shawl Saipikhup before approaching his native home in Kangpokpi district.
The MMA fighter was also accorded a warm welcome at his native village Saparmeina before a grand reception ceremony was held at Kangpokpi district headquarters by the local town bodies including Kangpokpi Town Committee, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization and Kangpokpi Youth Union.
At the reception ceremony, the chairman of Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship, Rev K Hangshing prayed for the well-being of the young fighter as the MMA fighter knelt on his knee on yje ground while praising the Lord for his great achievements.
Paomin Kipgen and Hatnu Kipgen, a couple Vengthah Kangpokpi Ward No 3, who sponsored the young MMA fighter organized a reception feast at their residence after the formal reception ceremony at Kangpokpi Town Committee office.
Mention may be made that Chief Minister N Biren had feted Satgunhao following his gold medal feat at the AIMMAF National Open MMA Championship in Delhi this year and motivated him to continue his endeavour and bring more laurels to the State.
The young gold medallist, who lost his father at a tender age and despite his family's financial problems pursued his career in MMA with the support of his widowed mother and four siblings bagged his first gold medal in the Northeast Fight Championship held in Guwahati in 2019 .
In 2021, Satgunhao secured a silver medal in the Interstate Wushu Championship, 2020 .
He also won a gold medal in Hero Pro Fight Night, 2021 in Maharashtra and a silver medal in the National Mixed Martial Arts Championship held in Bangalore before his recent achievements.
Satgunhao Kipgen aimed to become a successful UFC player and his priority is to train in Thailand.
