RK Imo seeks support for BJP candidates in IMC polls

With the Imphal Municipal Corporation election likely to be held in early next year, the election campaign has already begun with Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo 'campaigning' for the BJP candidates during a function held at Wahengbam Leikai community hall, here, on Monday.
Speaking as chief guest at the distribution of LPG cylinders, stove and other documents under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to select beneficiaries of Sagolband AC ward number 8, RK Imo appealed to the people of his constituency to support candidates of BJP in all the 4 wards of the assembly constituency in the upcoming IMC election.
Stating that the people of his constituency are being provided various benefits under Ujjwala Yojana, the MLA said that the distribution function has been organised for those beneficiaries who have not received their share of benefit under the scheme.
"Altogether 160 beneficiaries of ward no.8 will he provided gas cylinder sets.
However, those beneficiaries left out would be included in the next beneficiary list," he added.
While maintaining that like-minded leaders are necessary to build a developed society, he further informed that even though BJP is yet to officially announce the candidates for the upcoming municipal elections, the intending candidates are all lined up.
Similar to proper alignment of all the four wheels of a vehicle necessary to operate it smoothly, we need to elect like-minded leaders for building a developed society.
Therefore, it is necessary to elect BJP candidates in all the 4 wards in the constituency for smooth governance, he said.
While 'campaigning' for BJP intending candidate L Shivananda Sharma during the function, he appealed to the people to support Shivananda as he had been performing various tasks for the welfare and benefit of the ward.
The function was also attended by intending Shivananda Sharma, IMC Ward no 7 ex-corporator RK Jiten and members of BJP Sagolband Mandal.
