MTDS, MCC celebrate foundation day

The 27th foundation day of Manipur Tourism Development Society (MTDS), Imphal was held at Evento Lounge, Pangei Nepali Basti on Monday.
The programme was attended by Society's president Y Iboyaima as president along with other members and tourism experts.
Speaking on the occasion, Y Iboyaima pointed out that tourism in Manipur can reach its full potential only when its unique natural and biodiversity hotspot is fully explored with modern scientific planning and development of required infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Manipur Cultural Council (MCC) celebrated its first foundation day at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound here, on Sunday.
The programme was attended by Theatre Centre Manipur president Naba Wareppa, MCC president Kangjam Radhakumar, Manipur State Shumang Leela Council lifetime president Ph Gunachandra Sharma and PAL director N Tiken as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, K Radhakumar urged the government to formulate a recruitment policy for Art & Culture Department for proper implementation of policies to preserve and propagate the various art forms of the state.
He also emphasised on the need for constituting a Cultural Advisory Board by the government as mentioned in the Manipur Culture Policy at the earliest.
The event was marked by offering of floral tributes to the photos of departed artistes and gurus.
