Ranji Trophy 2022-23 : Langlonyamba's unbeaten 79 helps Manipur draw Bihar

Manipur skipper Langlonyamba clung on with an unbeaten 79 to help Manipur draw Bihar in the second Ranji Trophy Plate Group match on the fourth day at Gujarat College Cricket Ground 'A', Ahmedabad today.
Bihar who were 217 for 8 (in 67 overs) at stumps on Day 3 added 70 more runs in 14 overs today to declared their innings on 287 for 9 after 81 overs thanks to Veer Pratap Singh's 76-ball 63 (total : 311+287 =598 runs) .
Debutant Bikash Singh who dismissed Sachin Kumar Singh of Bihar yesterday claimed the only wicket of the day in the form of Harsh Vikram Singh to return with bowling figures of 2/48 in 8 overs.
Kishan Singha (3/54 in 29 overs which include 8 maidens) and Bishorjit (3/74 in 18 overs which include 1 maiden) had already inflicted much damage on Bihar yesterday.

Manipur who posted 296 runs in 102 overs to trail behind by 15 runs in the first innings (Bihar's 311) needed 360 runs for the win today.
However, Manipur started the chase on a sticky note with P Prafullomani who hit 75 in the previous innings getting out for 8 to Harsh Vikram and Rahaman was dismissed for 6 after 11.4 overs by Ashutosh Aman.
Langlonyamba, who came in for Rahman when the scoreboard read 33 for 2, then stitched together 33 runs for third wicket partnership with opening batter Y Karnajit before Ashutosh Aman dismissed Karnajit for 43 in the 26th over when the scoreboard read 69 .
Langlonyamba clung on and saw wickets of Johnson (21) and Rex (4) falling before forging a major 65-run 6th wicket partnership off 105 deliveries with Bikash Singh who was just three runs away from hitting a half century when Ashutosh completed his four wicket haul.
Kishan Singha who also added a half century (65) in first innings was then run out for 10 and Jotin Pheiroijam was removed by Veer Pratap Singh for 27 .
Langlonyamba was unbeaten on 79 with Ronald M (4) on other end of the crease as Manipur racked up 248/8 in 74 overs and forced a draw with Bihar to settle for a point.
Bihar, who had a 15-run first innings lead, earned 3 points from the match.
Manipur will play Arunachal Pradesh from December 27 at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Anand.
