Many extend solidarity, condolences to victims of tragic road mishap

Many continue to extend solidarity and condolences to the victims of the tragic road accident which took place at Old Cachar Road, Tubung Longsai Part III in Noney district on December 21 .
A study tour bus of Thambalnu Higher Secondary School, Yairipok Top-Chingtha met with the dreadful accident which killed nine individuals including seven school students and injured several others.
Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM) and All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) in a joint press release extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the peace of the departed souls.
The women bodies also lauded the timely actions and support rendered to the victims especially by the Chief Minister and his Ministerial team.
The United Association of Recognized (Private) Schools of Manipur (UARSOM) extended solidarity to the victims of the unfortunate accident.
L Joy Singh, President of UARSOM stated that the association is saddened by the unprecedented throat choking incident.
The association also appealed to all schools in Manipur to plan and observe a condolence service at their convenience in the honour of the departed individuals.
The association also pledged support to the school, management and teaching fraternity in this time of anguish and desolation.
All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) expressed deepest condolences to the family members of the deceased students.
AIDSO also demanded adequate financial compensation to the families of the deceased along with free and advanced medical facilities for the injured by the Government at the earliest.
The Imphal East District United Clubs Organisation (IEDUCO) organised a condolence ceremony at AMUCO office to condole the demise of students and staff.
The attendees observed two minute silence as a mark of honour and prayed that the departed souls may rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
IEDUCO also shared the pain of the families of the injured and prayed for their speedy recovery.
All Manipur Muslims (Meitei Pangal) Welfare Association (AMPWA) also held a meeting today at its temporary office at Minuthong Hatta and the members observed two minute silence praying for the peace of the departed ones and quick recovery of the injured.
IEDUCO and AMPWA also sought the attention of the authorities concerned of the Government for proper maintenance of the said road for smooth and easy commute in the interest of the public.
Meanwhile, Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) and its component bodies namely Nongpok, NIMPAL, THOUBAL IMA and ANUL; the Koren (Koireng) Youth Organisation, Manipur (KYO-M), All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC); Tarahei Youth Development Organisation (TYDO); Mayai Lambi College Students' Union; Audacious Group Yairipok (AGY); Agnipath Pre Recruitment Training Centre Heirok; Ibeni Sports Academy Heirok and Bamon Leikai Youth Club, Yairipok too extended their grief and solidarity to the victims of the tragic incident.
